VoxImplant's Android and iOS SDKs now have full WebRTC Support

The move towards a homogeneous IT environment in which every application can be used with any device is fast approaching. Millennials and those that will succeed them will be operating in a collaborative environment, and they don’t want the inefficiencies of legacy technologies with propriety issues affecting how they work. One solution that is bringing us closer to this standardized world is WebRTC. With support in most of the popular browsers and more organizations using WebRTC as part of their overall communications, having the right software development kit (SDK) ensures it can be deployed across different devices.

VoxImplant, a communications cloud platform built specifically for mobile and web app developers, has unveiled new features for a more powerful real-time communications app development for the cloud. The company announced the debut of the updated SDKs at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The Android (News - Alert) and iOS SDK will have full WebRTC support in the latest version. This means developers can integrate this solution for audio and video calls on mobile devices. Browsers that are WebRTC-enabled, including Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and Microsoft (News - Alert) Spartan when it becomes available, can be used to communicate seamlessly without plug-ins or propriety applications.

The new capabilities will deliver a cloud communication platform with the infrastructure and scalability that gives mobile developers a simplified solution for setting up P2P audio and video communication in the cloud.

VoxImplant gives developers the tools for building a range of solutions that can be integrated into apps and a host of office communications solutions that include:

  • Softphones
  • Click-to-call
  • Automated surveys
  • Cloud contact centers and PBXs
  • Cloud IVR
  • Call tracking

According to the company’s CEO, it is currently being used to make millions of calls monthly, with more new features being added frequently. In fact, one of the features is a fully unified communication (UC) stack, including instant messaging, presence, file transfer, and video conferencing.

“Adding WebRTC support to our mobile SDKs will give app developers even richer options toward delivering a first-rate user experience through voice and video,” said Alexey Aylarov, CEO, VoxImplant.

The complexities in IT are being removed one technology at a time, and this is making it easier for individuals and organizations to adopt a wide range of solutions to improve the way they play and work. VoxImplant leverages WebRTC to enable developers build apps faster and with less complication so it can be available to a wider audience.
