PCTEL Introduces SeeGull EXflex Scanning Receiver at Mobile World Congress

PCTEL (News - Alert), Inc., a company that develops antenna, scanning receiver, and engineered site solutions and services for public and private networks, has rolled out its PCTEL SeeGull EXflex scanning receiver at Mobile World Congress (News - Alert).

Operators and managed service providers can rely on this new scanning receiver to enhance the Quality of Service (QoS) and spectral efficiency of their networks, which is spread across a wide array of network technologies and frequency bands.

The new EXflex receiver promises to simplify wireless network testing operations by linking the trusted measurement performance and reliability of PCTEL’s SeeGull EX platform with the capability to test all major wireless technologies and bands worldwide in a single cost-effective hardware unit.

In addition, operators are at ease and comfort using this receiver as they can use a single EXflex scanning receiver to achieve advancement with efficiency with any complex or simple wireless network worldwide.

“The EXflex is fully field-upgradable using a software server, so our customers will be able to use a single hardware unit in every market, without purchasing additional hardware modules,” said David Neumann, PCTEL’s VP and GM, RF Solutions. “This will allow our customers to take full advantage of the SeeGull EX platform’s field-proven ability to provide in-depth, accurate network intelligence over multiple years of operation at a competitive price,” added Neumann.

Simultaneously, Ascom (News - Alert) Network Testing, a company specializing in mobile network testing, optimization and benchmarking solutions, will be presenting the SeeGull EXflex with its TEMS mobile network drive test and walk test products.

“We are pleased to add the SeeGull EXflex as an option for our customers,” said Kenneth Schönfeldt, VP, Test & Measurement Product Unit, Ascom Network Testing. “Operators face constant pressure to add capacity at the lowest possible operational cost. The SeeGull EXflex provides the ability to modify feature sets and frequency bands with a software server paradigm, which brings additional cost efficiencies to the network testing process,” Schönfeldt added.

PCTEL is a specialist in developing and also supports scanning receivers for LTE (News - Alert), TD-LTE, EV-DO, CDMA, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, GSM, and WiMAX networks.
