T-Mobile and HTC Launch HTC One S in U.S.

At the Mobile World Congress, HTC (News - Alert) and T-Mobile announced the availability of HTC One S for U.S. subscribers. The new smartphone is purported to offer high-quality entertainment experience by leveraging T-Mobile’s (News - Alert) fastest network speeds.

HTC One S is an ultra-sleek smartphone that is claimed to be the thinnest smartphone offered by T-Mobile and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual core processor over the Android (News - Alert) 4.0 with HTC Sense 4 platform and features a 4.3-inch touch screen.

One of the most notable features of the smartphone is its 8 megapixel camera with auto focus, smart LED flash, and BSI sensor for better low-light captures that enable users to enjoy realistic colors and dependable performance with features such as auto smile detection, face focus and continuous shooting. With the introduction of HTC ImageSense, improvements are brought to every part of the 8MP camera, including lens, the sensor and the software.

Commenting on the HQ digital camera available with the HTC One S, Jason Mackenzie, president of global sales and marketing at HTC Corporation noted that people take photos on their phone more than any activity other than making phone calls, which is why HTC improved every part of the camera experience on HTC One S.

In order to deliver the most authentic sound to users while listening to music, the phone is integrated with the Beats By Dr. Dre technology. The pre-loaded Google (News - Alert) Music lets users have easy cloud-based access to their personal playlists.

Some of the other features of the HTC One S are 1080p HD video recording; 1.3 megapixel front camera that lets video chat at 720p resolutions; dedicated imaging chip; 1650 mAh battery and support for HSPA/WCDMA/GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks; DLNA for wirelessly streaming media from the phone to a compatible TV or computer and Wi-Fi IEEE (News - Alert) 802.11b/g/n; and more.

“We're thrilled to partner with HTC on the launch of its new HTC One series of smartphones and to bring the HTC One S to the U.S. With the HTC One S, we're not only delivering on our promise to bring leading-edge technology to market but are continuing to provide customers with the best 4G entertainment experiences from listening to high-quality music to streaming high-resolution movies,” said Andrew Sherrard, senior vice president of Marketing at T-Mobile USA, in a press release.
