Globecomm Introduces LTE Hosted Network Solutions at CTIA Wireless 2012

Globecomm Systems Inc., a full-service GSM/ CDMA/UMTS/LTE (News - Alert) mobile technology and wireless technology provider of 2G/3G/4G services and products, is launching a new time and cost-saving 4G switching solution for cellular operators. The company made the announcement today at CTIA (News - Alert) 2012, where they are hosting a full demonstration of the solution.
According to a press release, the solution – offered as hosted service – will significantly reduce the time, money and effort required by operators to start or transition to a 4G business. Cellular operators can use this solution to create LTE networks and deploy Voice over LTE and other IMS related services.
The solution provides a unique, cost effective converged packed gateway solution that resides in the home market of the operator and breaks out IP traffic to their selected local internet service providers (ISP).
With this solution, carriers can reduce the cost incurred in transport to the core network, without having to make any tradeoffs to the network security, control, visibility or reliability. Even smaller operators can launch advanced LTE services by using Globecomm’s network and RF Planning, UE user devices, eNodeB radio gear, backhaul solutions, converged packet gateway, LTE core, NOC (News - Alert) and network management tools – as well as the expertise to break out Internet traffic, deep packet inspection technology, billing, security and regulatory compliance and systems support.
“LTE network technology is rapidly advancing to meet exploding data demand and introduce new data applications, yet smaller operators are often stuck upfront making risky investment decisions with specific vendors and face years of expensive upgrades and support costs,” said Andrew Silberstein, Senior VP and General Manager of Globecomm Services. “The capabilities made possible by our hosted switching solution solve cost and risk problems and open new markets for our customers while helping them rapidly expand their networks and drive new revenue generating services to their customers.”
Globecomm demonstrated several of its wireless and machine-to-machine (M2M) services earlier this year, at a number of trade shows worldwide.
