Alcatel-Lucent's lightRadio Wins 2011 CTIA E-Tech Competition

Alcatel-Lucent, telecom equipment and solutions provider, announced it received two awards for mobile technologies, including the recently announced lightRadio, in CTIA's annual 2011 Emerging Technology (E-Tech) Awards competition.
The highlights of the most innovative new products in 14 categories spanning the areas of mobile apps, consumer electronics, enterprise and infrastructure were shared at the CTIA (News - Alert) E-Tech Awards.
The telecom infrastructure major received recognition in the Infrastructure: Wide Area Network Category with a first place award for its lightRadio. Alcatel-Lucent's (News
- Alert) TeleHealth Manager also was recognized in the Mobile Applications: Health, Wellness and Fitness Category.

Released in February this year, Alcatel-Lucent’s lightRadio offers a single platform for 2G, 3G, and 4G and can be modified remotely through software. The platform significantly reduces costs by integrating components. lightRadio is designed to assist operators to reach new market segments cost effectively.
TeleHealth Manager from Alcatel-Lucent offers remote patient monitoring to assist the management of diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure. The software solution uses off-the-shelf Bluetooth-enabled medical devices and mobile phones that allow patients to send readings securely and easily to secure servers.
Recently, Alcatel-Lucent selected Taleo Corporation’s (News - Alert) Taleo Performance and Taleo Analytics solutions for deployment targeting more than 70,000 employees worldwide. Taleo solutions are expected to enable Alcatel-Lucent to ensure that their business activities are aligning with their performance management process.
