Aegis Mobility, the major player in providing network-integrated solutions for responsible mobile phone usage while driving, has introduced DriveAssist to offer wireless operators a unique and highly configurable solution to the problem of distracted driving.

The operators can have the first look of the DriveAssist product line at International CTIA Wireless 2011 in Orlando, March 22 to 24. 

DriveAssist has a unique, client-server architecture that is scalable and highly configurable. It integrates easily and virtually transparently into a wireless operator's network to meet operator and customer-specific requirements.

"The network-integrated approach of DriveAssist offers technical advantages and feature capabilities that off- network providers just can't match," said Bill Stack, president of Aegis Mobility U.S, in a press release.

Automatic mediation of text, data and voice based on subscriber policies and preferences are also provided by DriveAssist.

By extending s the capabilities of existing location-based infrastructure, adding contextual intelligence, DriveAssist offers a level of privacy and anonymity for subscribers. In addition, they also provide operators with a unique ability to scale to other driving and non-driving related applications.

For SMS/MMS and data policy management, Aegis Mobility works with key strategic vendors. To introduce DriveAssist to 20,000 NSC member organizations, representing more than eight million employees, it has maintained strategic relations with the National Safety Council.

Based in Vancouver, Aegis, with twelve patents pending, has developed innovations that reduce network overhead and provide for network and signaling efficiencies.

The DriveAssist approach has successfully passed integration and drive testing with a Tier-1 U.S. wireless operator.
