Have you ever dreamt of owning a James Bond-inspired gizmo that looks ordinary, but can bring your pursuit of multitasking to life? Get ready for one that looks like a normal hat, but can transfer sound/music from phone or PC directly to your ear through vibrations.

The device will debut at the Eureka Park CES (News - Alert) 2013, currently underway.

A Delaware-based start-up Max Virtual LLC has unveiled this unique hat/baseball cap which allows users to listen to music or have a phone or Skype (News - Alert) conversation from their mobile phone, tablet or PC, completely hands-free. The hat does not require earphones or earpieces to transfer the audio from the mobile device.

This unique non-headphone Bluetooth hat/baseball cap was possible with the help of Max Virtual’s proprietary device, Cynaps, a Bluetooth-enabled bone conduction headset.

Installed discreetly into any wearable hat, Cynaps currently allows sound/music from the phone or PC to be conducted directly into your inner ear through vibration, eliminating the requirement of earphones/earpieces and allowing the user to multitask hands free.

The Cynaps uses bone conduction to transmit sound to one’s inner ear via two small vibrating modules within the lining of the hat. It wirelessly connects to a mobile phone, tablet or PC via Bluetooth to make calls or listen to music and video.

The Cynaps-powered hands-free, ears-free Bluetooth hat/baseball cap has been provided with control panel under the bill, which provides users with easy access to useful features such as taking a call, adjusting volume and navigating playlists.

As quoted by Max Virtual, the Cynaps can provide users with crystal clear audio. Unlike other normal Bluetooth earpieces that cover the ears completely, Cynaps is relatively safe while driving or biking, as both ears are free and the user remains more aware of surrounding traffic than with more invasive audio from earbuds or headphones.

Featuring standby time of around 30 days and average talk time between six and 10 hours, the Cynaps has a microphone as well that utilizes much less battery life.

In general, users can to talk comfortably on medium volume for about seven to eight hours between recharges.

Capable of connecting to any Bluetooth-enabled phone, PC or audio player, Cynaps is provided with additional USB battery backup cables.

For an additional price, Max Virtual will also provide its Cynaps users with a pair of headlights as well as a self-installation kit, which allows users to install Cynaps into their own hat, or a motorcycle or bicycle helmet, a headband or hardhat.

According to Max Virtual, it is also featuring the Cynaps project on crowdfunding site, Indiegogo. After successful funding, the company plans to ship the first batch of hats out to Indiegogo backers next month.

In the near future, Max Virtual plans to install Cynaps into other headgear such as motorcycle helmets, headbands and a wider variety of hats.
