If there is any technology that could see a huge boon in 2013, it would be the tech that aids home automation. Zonoff is one company that seems to be banking on the explosion of the new tech. The company announced that it is launching the Zonoff Distributed Radio Architecture (ZDRA) solution at this week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. 

The company says that the new tech will make it easier to open new opportunities for consumer electronics OEMs. Zonfoff says that the solution includes low cost and easy to use wireless radio solution codes.

“As the first company in the industry to deliver enabling technology that is truly standards agnostic, the release of ZDRA and Sentry is the next logical step for Zonoff,” explained Mike Harris, Zonoff’s CEO. ZDRA and Sentry facilitate communication back to the home’s primary automation controller, which houses the “brain” of the connected home via Zonoff Home Software.

Harris added that quite a few of the companies in their sector have depended on a home automation controller box. These boxes usually rely on separate control software and specific radios that receive the RF control signals. Zonoff has made the radios more adaptable and, therefore, can be placed anywhere in the home without having to be hooked up to a wired Ethernet connection. This means that if the customer already has a Wi-Fi connection, they can easily add the radios to the network.

In order to show off this new technology, Zonoff will be setting up a demo “home” in a 2,000 square foot suite. Anyone who wants to see what exactly an automated home can do with this technology, will be able to get a firsthand look. When talking about a technology like this, a demonstration is the best way to get it out there.
