Satarii Unveils Innovative Microphone at CES 2012

At CES (News - Alert) 2012, Satarii Inc. a technology developer and a product designer, unveiled its Swivl product’s new design, as well as an accompanying app and a microphone in the sensor marker.

Swivl also was named in one of ten finalists in CES’s Last Gadget Standing Competition.

Developed in early November 2011, Swivl was designed with support from UD+M and Studio Backs, the two design companies which helped in creating a new brand and industrial design.

Swivl is the mobile accessory that allows a cameraman to take hands free videos with their iPhone, iPod Touch, Android (News - Alert) phone, GoPro, or Flip along with the help of a sensor marker. The sensor marker offers video controls via the Swivl app and is fully compatible with iPhone (News - Alert) 4, 4s and 4th generation iPod Touch.

The Swivl digital microphone is key for recording video at a distance. Unlike a Bluetooth mic, this microphone is quick and easy as its wireless transmission is much better suited to shoot video. The company emphasized in a press release that its Swivl users using a iPhone 4 or 4s will now have the best experience possible with the added microphone.

If a user has the Swivl Base, add the Swivl app and the marker acts as a wireless microphone and remote control for your iPhone or iPod.

The company revealed plans to make its product commercially available in Q1 of 2012 with an estimated retail of $159.99. Swivl comes standard with a marker, base, tripod mount, lanyard, micro USB cable and batteries. However, a wall charger is not included and sold separately.
