Panasonic Showcases Portfolio of Integrated Management Retail Solutions at 2012 CES

Panasonic, a SIP phones leader, has been busy this week showcasing its comprehensive portfolio of integrated management retail solutions at the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES (News - Alert)), taking place from Jan. 10-13 in Las Vegas, Nev.

Among those items aer on display, the end-to-end lineup includes the point of sale (POS) series that features the Lite-ray and new Stingray Envo workstations. In addition, it also includes the Attune Wireless Communications System, security and loss prevention systems, Toughbook mobile computers, SIP phone systems and digital signage solutions.

“Our dynamic and cost-efficient solutions offer retail businesses a higher level of integrated management that resonates across the entire operation,” said Rick Elliott, director of food services at Panasonic (News - Alert) System Communications Company of North America.

Elliott said that whether it’s for a quick serve restaurant, a grocery store or a convenience store, Panasonic technology can help businesses increase productivity and improve operational efficiency.

The Lite-ray POS workstation offers Panasonic performance and reliability with an open platform. Company officials said that the platform provides flexibility, accommodating almost any POS software application from virtually any industry. Moreover, its compact size and all-in-one fanless design deliver an array of functionality at an affordable price.

The Panasonic Stingray Envo POS workstation integrates a compact and modular design with powerful technology. Company officials said that it delivers a unique POS solution that enables a variety of mounting options for use in a wide range of environments. Envo runs virtually any operating system or software.

For “greatly” improved clarity in a digital wireless communication system, the Attune Wireless Communications System combines digital audio technology with advanced and user-friendly performance features.

Company officials said that Attune features a spread spectrum design using a restricted 1.9 Ghz band for interference-free communications. Plus, the system is designed with a regulated digital enhanced cordless telecommunications (DECT) voice technology protocol for interference-free communications.

Additionally, the exhibit is also expected to demonstrate an innovative integrated surveillance system, featuring Panasonic network cameras, displays and recorders that are designed to help retailers reduce shrinkage, fake scanning and theft. And, the company is also displaying retail solutions such as Panasonic’s rugged Toughbook computers, SIP telephone systems and digital signage offerings.

Also this week, Panasonic introduced the KX-UT670 Smart Desk Phone (News - Alert), which expands upon the company’s current lineup of SIP UT Series telephones. The KX -UT670 boasts a full operating, open source, system as well as a Web browser, seven-inch color LCD Touch screen and HD wideband voice and high quality HD video. It is certified for Broadsoft, Asterisk (News - Alert) and Metaswitch; can be expandable to six SIP terminals; and has the ability to support Bluetooth.

Panasonic is a Gold sponsor of ITEXPO East 2012. To be held Jan. 31- Feb. 3 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami, Fla. ITEXPO (News - Alert) is the world’s premier IP communications event.
