Jungo and RealNVC Enter M2M Partnership
Jungo Ltd., a leading provider of connectivity software solutions, and remote access software specialist, RealVNC, have entered into a partnership agreement to provide interconnectivity between personal mobile devices and in-car infotainment systems.
Both the companies have based their solutions on VNC Mobile Solution for Automotive, supporting Terminal Mode, based on VNC, a specification published by Consumer Electronics for Automotive (CE4A,) an automotive industry working group comprising Audi, BMW, Daimler, Porsche and Volkswagen and Nokia.
With the combined Automotive Connectivity Middleware from Jungo and VNC Mobile Solution for Automotive from RealVNC (News - Alert), the head unit of the car infotainment system will be able to detect access and control mobile devices in the vehicle and display their content on the screen in the dashboard.
RealVNC will provide its VNC technology and Jungo (News - Alert) will provide Jungo Automotive Connectivity Middleware featuring device connectivity, media and network management, USB and Bluetooth protocol stacks.
Supporting a wide range of mobile operating systems and legacy devices, RealVNC Mobile Solution will also provide support for those handsets that support Terminal Mode, which allows users to display their smartphone screen on the infotainment screen and control their devices from the dashboard, without altering the interface and user experience.
“Jungo’s Automotive Connectivity Middleware enables connectivity of the head unit to any device over any protocol together with media, phone and internet management capabilities,” said Jungo Connectivity Software General Manager, Ophir Herbst, in a statement. “The partnership with RealVNC further strengthen the solution by providing best in class Terminal Mode connectivity to smartphones.”

Jungo Automotive Connectivity Middleware will be demonstrated at the Jungo booth at CES. located in the USB TechZone, booth 36505, in South Hall 4 (upper level) of the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC.)
