SinglePipe Sees A Bright Future Ahead

By Greg Galitzine, Group Editorial Director

SinglePipe Communications (News - Alert) provides turnkey Voice over IP (VoIP)-based communication solutions designed to enable wholesalers and channel partners to offer digital voice services to SMB and residential customers over broadband connections.

At The Cable Show in New Orleans, SinglePipe announced a partnership with CMA Communications. SinglePipe will act as the managed service provider for CMA’s digital phone solutions for both residential and business customers.

The SinglePipe solution includes a range of packages for residential and small to medium businesses including regulatory compliance, FCC (News - Alert)-compliant 911, local number portability, complete back office integration, and Tier 2/3 support. SinglePipe’s ability to integrate its Web-based back office solution with CMA’s current systems was a key differentiator in CMA’s decision to go with SinglePipe.

According to Doug Bridges, president of CMA, "In addition to being impressed by the quality of SinglePipe’s network and proven Broadsoft-based solution, we felt that the cultures and ambitions of our companies were very similar. As a smaller operator, selecting excellent vendors is critical to our success."

CMA will initially launch SinglePipe’s managed service in its Laughlin, Nevada market with plans to pursue further launches in its Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi markets.

SinglePipe also announced that Great Lakes Data Systems (GLDS) today announced integration of flow-through billing and provisioning for commercial and residential VoIP services.

This integration is designed to allow service providers to control SinglePipe Digital Voice services from the GLDS WinCable billing system.

Cable operators can leverage this single interface for provisioning all their various services to more easily support their customers, minimize revenue loss, and realize higher levels of customer satisfaction.

According to SinglePipe, the market opportunity is only getting bigger. Company representatives cited Gartner (News - Alert) research as saying that the market is set to grow from 17 million digital phone lines today, to 66 million lines by 2011.

The company also believes that their most important competitive differentiator is the fact that they own their own network as well as have the experience in voice and serving customers, resulting in greater control over the entire process which in turn enables faster service turn-up as well as pricing advantages.
