Dialogic Announces Beta Availability of the DiaStar Server, Version 1.1
By Paula Bernier, Executive Editor, IP Communications Magazines
Dialogic (News - Alert) Corp. is in beta with its DiaStar Server, version 1.1, which extends existing Dialogic video features to the open source/Asterisk (News - Alert) marketplace.
New video features of the Diastar Server include:
· multimedia processing with advanced video transcoding (MPEG-4 and H.263), enabling the development of advanced video gateways and media servers;
· video conferencing, which displays a video conference to multiple callers;
· video resize, which adapts high-quality content to display on smaller-sized video-enabled phones;
· video play/record, which allows for the storage and forwarding of video content for IVVR, video portals and many other video applications;
· video DVR controls , which lets users navigate through video content with familiar controls that make using an application simple and intuitive; and
· native streaming and native play/record , which reduces the transcoding burden that results in increased density per server.
These new features help developers create applications for fixed and mobile phones, such as IVVR systems, video surveillance systems, video gateways, mobile advertising and banking, multimedia social networking and basic video call completion. These features add to the Call Progress Analysis modules that were already available on the Diastar Server.
