Know Thy Keynoters � John Carson

[Editor's Note: On Wednesday the 23 rd, at 12:20 p.m. in a special luncheon address Toshiba’s Digital Solutions Division’s Director of Business Development John Carson will present a keynote address.]

John Carson, a man of many hats, is director, mobile communications solutions of Toshiba Digital Solutions Division, a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc.

He brings more than 25 years of experience in the computer industry to his position, in which he is responsible for business development for the division’s VoIP, roaming, connectivity, and mobility communications solutions.

Prior to joining this division of Toshiba, Carson was vice president, Customer Marketing with Toshiba’s Digital Products Division, manufacturers of Toshiba laptops and other hardware devices. While at Toshiba DPD, his accomplishments and responsibilities included directing Toshiba’s efforts for customer services and solutions in the enterprise space and creating Toshiba customer programs including the company’s End User Advisory Council and the Platinum Frequent Buyer Programs.

While at Toshiba DPD, Mr. Carson was also responsible for the marketing strategy, positioning, promotions, and customer programs for the company’s mobile products and solutions in the United States, and overseeing the direction of global products and solutions for U.S.-based multi-national accounts. Mr. Carson originally joined Toshiba in 1994.

As Tom Keating blogged last October, Toshiba’s been busy in VoIP:

"They announced the Toshiba Strata CIX, designed for small- to medium-sized enterprises or larger corporate users with multiple sites and supports up to 672 ports. It offers new FeatureFlex adaptability capabilities that let users customize their features. In addition, it can be TDM-enabled and provides a smooth migration path from Toshiba Strata CTX and Strata DK digital business communication systems. It will be available later this year.

"They also introduced the Toshiba Strata Wireless IP Telephone, Model WIPT2000, is an enterprise-class 802.11 wireless IP telephone. Compatible with Toshiba’s new Strata CIX native IP business communications system and Toshiba’s Strata CTX IP-enabled business communications systems, Toshiba’s Strata Wireless IP Telephone leverages Wi-Fi coverage over the enterprise WLAN, giving users full mobility at the company campus. It will be available this fall."
