Intrado and Casabyte Announce Compliance Testing

By David Sims, TMCnet CRM Alert Columnist

Intrado Inc., a provider of integrated data and telecommunications products, and Casabyte, Inc., a provider of automated end-to-end service quality monitoring technology, have introduced an automated Accuracy Compliance Testing product designed to provide wireless carriers E9-1-1 location testing and verification objectives as required by the FCC for Phase II deployments.

Intrado and Casabyte have formed an alliance to develop the ACT solution based on Casabyte's patented Remote Cellular Automated Testing System. RCATS enables wireless service providers to access real-time, network-wide performance and location information.

"By using the automated Accuracy Compliance Testing solution, wireless carriers can streamline the manual location testing process and increase operational efficiencies of their wireless E9-1-1 deployments," says Dan Hoskins, Intrado senior vice president sales and market development.

The Intrado Accuracy Compliance Testing solution provides an alternative to manual drive testing of wireless location technologies while establishing basic performance standards for wireless E9-1-1 services for emergency calls via any mobile phone. By providing the capabilities to automatically monitor the health of the emergency services network, carriers can track the location of wireless emergency calls, lowering compliance testing costs.

Ken Hosac, Casabyte director of product management says the alliance integrates the Casabyte RCATS solution with Intrado's E9-1-1 infrastructure for a “complete, automated end-to-end solution to validate wireless E9-1-1 service from an end-customer perspective.”

Intrado provides the core of the nation's 9-1-1 network and delivers products to communications service providers and public safety organizations, including complex data management, network transactions, wireless data services and notification services. The company’s bmd wireless subsidiary and 724 Solutions Inc.have also announced plans to develop and cooperatively market an enhanced service management and message delivery product.

The companies said they will combine capabilities to help mobile network operators accelerate content delivery, reduce operational costs and increase the value of their service offerings.

The new product integrates 724's X-treme Service Activity Manager, or XSAM, with key service enablers from bmd wireless, including SMS Spam Filtering and SMS direct delivery. The companies said XSAM standardizes and automates the lifecycle management and billing of content services
