IPTV network provider Coaxsys Incorporated announced today it launched its new cable and satellite-compatible home networking products. The company currently offers the IPTV network services to telecoms that distribute video, voice, and data throughout homes. The new TVnet/C and TVnet/S products are what the company says, the first solutions that enable home networking over a residence’s existing coaxial cable while maintaining compatibility with legacy cable and satellite television delivery. Coaxys explained that these networks deliver full time consistent 100 Mbps with integrated Quality of Service (QoS) over any type or topology of existing coax.
The TVnet/C and TVnet/S for cable and satellite compatibility, respectively, would coexist with legacy television delivery over coaxial cable. With this compatibility, cable operators and satellite providers can now offer an in-home network without disrupting their current services and without having to go through the expensive and time consuming process of rewiring the home.
The TVnet in-home network will enable the operator to deliver IP video, broadband access, and VoIP to any room with a coax jack-thus providing the first multimedia-over-coax solutions available for these markets. Additionally, customers will be able to network video game consoles, PVRs, and other network-enabled devices by simply plugging into TVnet.
"We are extremely excited about this launch," said Coaxsys CEO Michael D'Addio. "While we are confident that our existing IPTV7000 product will maintain its lead in the IPTV networking market, our new products will open significant new markets. Our current TVnet products are installed and functioning flawlessly in thousands of homes, and we have built our new products with the same technology. Cable operators and satellite providers need a simple, reliable, and inexpensive in-home high speed network that really works. We are now delivering on the promise that these industries have heard for years: High speed reliable networking without the need for rewiring the home."
