Bivio’s Platform to Secure VoIP

BY JOHANNE TORRES

Addressing the increasingly important issue of security within VoIP (define - news - alert) environments, Bivio Networks announced today the launch of its new packet-handling platform combining programmable network processing capabilities with a high-speed backbone and scaling features.

Bivio Networks, a Pleasanton, CA-based company presided by CEO Dr. Elan Amir, supplies secure IP-service platforms. The company says its new solution combines service agility with wire-speed performance to deliver any IP service at XGE speed.

Bivio's platform features an architecture specifically optimized for wire-speed execution of emerging network services that increasingly demand deep packet processing combined with high network throughput. The platform is based on open standards, which aids uncompromising performance, enabling customers to trash existing bottlenecks.

The company says its new platform combines the high-speed packet processing capabilities of today's app-specific ASIC (define - news - alert) processor designs with the openness and flexibility of traditional software-based server approaches to quickly deliver new network services. And, as the need for better performance arises and requirements grow, additional apps on processing upgrades will be available via Bivio’s stacking technology, which allows users to expand the system with additional Network Processor and Application Processor cards to achieve higher system throughput and processing power.

Users looking for multi-dimensional scaling are addressed by Bivio Networks with the ability to support future networks and networking infrastructure, making highly adaptable, high performance networks now a reality.
