Palm, Inc. (News - Alert) and Claro have introduced the Palm Treo 750 smartphone in Brazil.



 
Treo 750, which is the first Windows Mobile based Treo smartphone to take advantage of Claro’s network, offers the world-class Palm experience on Microsoft’s (News - Alert) Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system.
 
Combining a multi-featured mobile phone with email, messaging, and web browsing and organization software all in a compact design, the smartphone has UMTS/HSDPA (High-speed Download Packet Access) capability and comes with Microsoft’s Direct Push Technology for Windows Mobile 5.0 that gives users connected to a Microsoft Exchange Server fast, automatic and secure wireless updates of their email, calendar items, contacts and tasks.
 
 
Founded in September 2003 Claro is one of the main mobile phone operators in Brazil. in November 2007, Claro started operations with Third Generation’s services (3G) for about 33 million people in 37 cities of Brazil.
 
Claro maintains roaming agreements in over 150 countries for voice services and more than 100 for data traffic in the five continents. Claro Together, these operators move more than 90 percent of the worldwide call traffic.
 
Customers of Federal District and metropolitan areas of Recife, Fortaleza and Porto Alegre already have broadband services and videocall and in December 2007, 3G will be available for more than 10 towns of Sao Paulo and three of Rio de Janeiro.

Palm products are sold through select Internet, retail, reseller and wireless operator channels throughout the world, and at Palm Retail Stores and Palm online stores.
