Tetra Tech Joint Venture Lands $64 Million Contract from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

The Tetra Tech-Tesoro joint venture team has been awarded a $64 million project at Fort Benning, Georgia, under its previously announced Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District.
Tetra Tech’s partner, Tesoro Corporation, is a construction services company based in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
The project will facilitate the U.S. Army Armor Center and School’s relocation to Fort Benning from Fort Knox, Kentucky, as part of the U.S. Department of Defense’s Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) activities.
As per terms of the deal, the team will provide design and construction services for an instruction facility, library, maintenance facility, and storage buildings. The work is expected to be completed in 2010.
“Tetra Tech is pleased to be selected by the Corps for this important project,” said Dan Batrack, Tetra Tech’s chairman and CEO, in a statement. “The Fort Benning project represents Tetra Tech’s most significant expansion into base infrastructure services under this round of BRAC.”
Tetra Tech is a provider of consulting, engineering, and technical services. With approximately 8,500 associates located in the United States and internationally, the Company supports commercial and government clients in the areas of resource management and infrastructure.
Tetra Tech’s services include research and development, applied science and technology, engineering design, program management, construction management, construction, and operations and maintenance.
Meanwhile, Tetra Tech announced it has been awarded two wind energy projects totalling approximately $28 million by PacifiCorp, a Western U.S. utility company. Work on the two projects will begin immediately and is expected to be complete in December 2008.
Tetra Tech will provide engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for the Seven Mile Hill II and the Glenrock III wind farm projects in Wyoming. Seven Mile Hill II will include 13 General Electric turbines capable of generating 19.5 megawatts of power and Glenrock III will include 26 General Electric turbines capable of generating 39 megawatts of power.
