Deacom Sells ERP System to Carter Lumber

TMCnet Contributing Editor

Software vendor for large-enterprise lumber dealers and building component manufacturer Deacom has announced that Carter Lumber has selected the Deacom Integrated Accounting and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software System to refine and manage its manufacturing business processes.

Carter Lumber has over 200 stores in 10 states, retailing building materials, and manufacturers trusses, custom moldings, millwork, engineered lumber, and prefabricated wall panels.

Carter Lumber will use the Deacom ERP System to consolidate and streamline its labor tracking, production scheduling, inventory, sales order entry, and purchasing functions in real time, as well as link to its Mitek design software for integrated ties between the engineering and business process.

In March, Wayne, Pennsylvania-based Deacom announced that SEM Products, located in Charlotte, North Carolina, is implementing the Deacom Integrated Accounting and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software System to manage all facets of its auto body paint, adhesive, and aerosol manufacturing operations.

Prior to its selection of the Deacom ERP System, SEM Products used several disparate software systems to handle its manufacturing process. This structure lacked total integration and ease-of-use.

“After reviewing our existing software set-up, we determined it was necessary to keep our data in one complete software system,” explains Brian Goff, SEM Products’ vice president of administration/finance.

The Deacom ERP System will handle the accounting, inventory, lab management, production, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and order entry functions of SEM Products.
