Chile's RedVoiss to Offer Skype Solutions

TMCnet Contributing Editor

According to several press reports, Chilean VoIP operator RedVoiss has signed an agreement with international VoIP provider Skype (News - Alert) to offer Skype value added solutions to its subscribers.

Under the agreement, RedVoiss will leverage Skype solutions such as SMS and "SkypeIn" calling which provides Redvoiss subscribers with a Skype number to receive calls on their computers.

The deal with Skype is part of RedVoiss’ plan to expand its services portfolio to include new solutions. RedVoiss presently provides long distance IP calling for residential customers, as well as corporate solutions.

Redvoiss has been facing legal action related to IP telephony in Chile. The company has taken incumbent operator Telefnica Chile to the court for blocking RedVoiss' VoIP calling service. The case went to the country's supreme court.
