BostonPower's Batteries "Environmentally Safe"

TMCnet Assistant Editor

Nordic Ecolabel certification may sound like an unfamiliar tongue twister, but for the environment and to the portable batteries market it is prominent

Boston-Power Inc. realized great heights recently when their Sonata notebook computer product family became the first rechargeable lithium ion batter made by a US-based provider to attain Nordic Ecolabel certification.

This endorsement signifies that their product is environmentally sustainable. This is becoming increasingly important in a market where consumers are taking a re-centered focus on the environment, and their responsibility to it.

As more and more consumers and businesses look for offering that are environmentally responsible and that offers the least environmental impact during the production and disposal of the solutions, earning this seal of endorsement will help greatly in the company's sale of the product while also demonstrating their dedication to providing environmentally safe offerings for the market.

The company outlined in recent news release, the highlights of their offerings to promote environmentally sound products. These included:

--A high quality reliable rechargeable battery system
--Environmentally friendly materials all the way from manufacturing to the packaging of their products
--Practicing energy efficiency at manufacturing facilities
---Disposing manufacturing fall-out in an environmentally safe way.

According to a news release, the amount of portable batteries released into the market yearly, roughly 160,000 tons according to The European Union Parliament, if not collected and recycled, but instead are thrown away to go into landfills and incinerators, can have a detrimental impact on the environment overtime.

Commenting on this and the companies new certification, Dr. Christina Lampe-Onnerund, Boston-Power Founder and CEO said in a statement to the press, "We believe we've shown that a battery provider can be sensitive to environmental issues while delivering products with unmatched performance, quality and cost-efficiency. We greatly respect the work of Nordic Ecolabel and are proud to accept this endorsement."
