Planet PDA -- The Enterprise PDA Event
Concludes Second Successful Show
Technology Marketing Corporation, TMC(R), announced that the second
"Planet PDA: The Global Summit on Enterprise and Custom Volume Handheld
Computing Solutions" (www.planetpdaexpo.com)
drew impressive crowds at last week's second show, held at the Boston World
Trade Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Planet PDA is the first enterprise focused PDA event that helps companies
developing handheld computing strategies to select, deploy and support the
best platform for their company. This one-of-a-kind event allows handheld
solutions providers to reach Fortune 1000 class enterprise customers seeking
custom volume handheld solutions.
Show highlights included the Wearable PC and Tablet PC Summits, two
special half-day workshops where industry visionaries, including Clarity
Quest Corp., Symbol, Farpoint Group, Vectrasense, Infocater, Viewsonic and
Flipside Media, spoke about increasing productivity and deriving competitive
advantage by deploying mobile and wearable solutions. In addition, the
"Battle for the Enterprise" featured platform evangelists from
Compaq, RIM, Palm, Hewlett-Packard, Symbol, and Modezilla in a lively battle
for enterprise business.
"From the sessions to the `Battle' to the exhibit hall, Planet PDA
satisfied an audience thirsty for competitive data they need to make smart
buying decisions," said Conference Co-Chairman and TMC(R) President,
Rich Tehrani. "Attendees told us again and again how they've needed an
event like Planet PDA for a long time and that the education they received
-- both from conferences and the exhibit hall -- was priceless as they plan
their handheld strategies," added Tehrani.
Planet PDA Boston 2002 provided a first-class forum for learning how
handheld devices -- when effectively deployed in the enterprise or other
environment -- can dramatically improve productivity. From seamless
anytime/anywhere access to corporate networks, to field sales and service
and vertical market applications, PDAs and other handheld devices are
transforming mobile workers from out-of-sight, out-of-mind road warriors
into never-out-of-touch contributors and collaborators.
Testimonials from show attendees include:
"It's been a great show ... People are really excited about this
technology, and we need more shows like this to be able to show what this
technology can do for people, not only for consumers, but for business and
for the enterprise."
-- Shiloh Rusk, Marketing Manager, Handheld Computing Magazine
"We've actually had an amazing amount of traffic, more than we had
at the last show in Vegas, we've made a lot of great contacts and we're
looking forward to the next show in San Francisco in the fall."
-- Roger Toennis, Research & Development Manager, Avaya
"We're ... showing our IPAC pocket PCs and our new accessories and
our wireless products, and we have partners here as well. It's been a great
show; I would definitely recommend it for anyone that wants to get more
information on pocket PCs or any type of pocket PC solution."
-- Rich Paxton, HP (formerly Compaq)
The editors of Planet PDA(TM) magazine have developed an informative
conference program designed to educate attendees about how to strategically
select, deploy, integrate and support these productivity-enhancing handheld
devices as an integral part of their corporate computing infrastructure.
