New York City To Host New Trade Show
Showcasing Biometric Security Solutions
Technology Marketing Corporation
(TMC) is hosting BiometriTech,
the new event showcasing biometric security solutions, June 25-27 at the
Hotel Penn in Midtown Manhattan.
The September 11th terrorist attacks have created a heightened security
tension in New York - and worldwide. Biometric physical security
technologies are quickly becoming the solution relied upon when foolproof
access control and identification is required. Biometric solutions are also
being deployed to protect precious corporate data. There is no more secure,
hack-proof solution than biometrics for controlling access to corporate
facilities, networks and sensitive databases.
According to Pat Friend, President of the Association of Flight
Attendants, Biometrics is a vital part of securing New York and America
against future attacks. She said the Association supports biometric
technologies, in tandem with the proper universal security system, for all
airport personnel. "We have supported a universal access for crew
members based on biometric authentication. That's the way of the
future," she said.
"Long before September 11th, the concept of achieving greater
security using Biometrics was gaining momentum. Many companies, agencies,
law enforcement groups, property/facility managers - all seeking to control
access or protect data - had biometric systems in place when the terrorist
attacks heightened security awareness. These technologies are now at a point
where ALL those responsible for physical and data security need to make
themselves aware of the solutions best for their particular application. And
the systems integrators and installers need to learn about these
technologies that are a MUST for their toolboxes," explained Rich
Tehrani, TMC president and conference co-chairman for BiometriTech.
"BiometriTech is the event where all of the applications will be
examined from each point of view - user, installer, reseller, and
integrator," added Tehrani.
According to Marc Robins, TMC's Vice President of Publications and
Trade Shows, BiometriTech is coming along at exactly the right time and is
in exactly the right location. "There are enough deployments of
Biometrics already to validate that the technology works and is poised to
become the leading security solution used worldwide. An event like
BiometriTech provides the essential forum - in the city so often mentioned
as a potential target - where vendors can gather with integrators,
installers and public and private sector users to discuss the benefits and
virtues of the solutions, and the important privacy issues involved in
implementing them. As Biometric solutions develop, this is the place where
people need to be informed."
