Overflow Crowd Attends INTERNET
TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO Miami 2002
Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) announced it has successfully
concluded its annual INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference and EXPO at the Hotel
Inter-Continental in Miami, Florida. According to show organizers -- and
based on the positive feedback from attendees and exhibitors -- this is
one of the most successful events in any industry in recent memory.
"It may be too early to tell for sure, but this show seems to be a
bright ray of light for the IP telephony industry -and communications as a
whole," said Conference Co-Chairman and TMC President Rich Tehrani.
"From all indications, people are buying and they are buying in
volume. In fact, over 85% of people I polled in the keynote address
indicated they came to the show because they are seeking solutions to buy
now."
INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO is the IP telephony
industry's only event where the entire industry, vendors and customers
alike, gather. The show packs 25 hours of exhibit hall time, conferences
and 2 networking events into three days, giving technology buyers from the
government, enterprises and service providers the opportunity to meet and
compare products with leading vendors and manufacturers.
According to TMC vice president of publications and trade shows, Marc
Robins, the success of the show in many ways flies in the face of
prevailing trends for conference organizers.
"So many shows are struggling to attract attendees - ANY
attendees. This show was filled with people willing to travel in search of
new solutions. Everyone at the show was serious in their pursuit of a
first-class IP telephony education because they were serious about
purchasing and implementing IP technology immediately. And they come to
INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO because they know this is the
show where real solutions are on display. It's a great indication that the
market is moving forward despite the difficult economic environment that
still prevails," reasoned Robins.
Feedback from show participants confirmed Robins' position.
"I had a great show. It was the exact international market we were
looking for," said Bruce Bankston, director of sales for Sestec
Communications, one of many very satisfied exhibitors. "We saw people
from India, the Czech Republic, Central and South America, Korea, Italy
and Miami. We made contacts from everywhere we wanted!"
"I go to four shows a year and this is the best conference I've
been to in 5 years," said Robert Smallback, Jr., Manager, Information
Systems, Southwest Florida International Airport. "The content,
quality of the speakers, facility and networking were all very
informative."
In addition to Rich Tehrani, keynote speakers included David Greenblatt,
CEO, ADIR Technologies and Eduardo G. Chapeta, CEO, VoIP Group.
