Cartridge World Reminds Customers to Create Green Home and Work Environment
By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributing Editor
In honor of Earth Day, Cartridge World is reminding customers about ways to create a "green” home and work environment.
To become more "green", customers can refill their printer cartridges at Cartridge World locations to save money and at the same time preserve the environment.
Cartridge disposal is fast becoming a huge e-waste problem. In North America alone 350 million cartridges are disposed of every year. One used cartridge will take 450 years to decompose.
Because printers are a common commodity in offices and homes, it can make a huge difference if cartridges are recycled. Every remanufactured cartridge saves nearly 3.5 pounds of solid waste from being deposited in landfills.
All Cartridge World retail locations have deployed recycle bins for the general public to drop off their empty cartridges.
Businesses can also help protect the environment and save money by participating in the Business Direct program, which allows businesses to set up accounts with Cartridge World. Cartridge World then picks up the empty toner cartridges - refills and delivers each back to the business.
“With our continued commitment to recycling, we look forward to the day when reusing and refilling cartridges is as common as separating waste materials in our homes,” said Peter Hasko, executive chairman of Cartridge World.
