911 Enable, Aastra USA Ink Reseller Agreement to Provide E911 Services to Enterprises

By Beecher Tuttle, TMCnet Contributor

Next-generation enterprise communications provider Aastra USA has entered into reseller agreement with 911 Enable (News - Alert), a leading provider of E911 solutions for the IP telephony market, according to a recent company release.

By expanding its partnership with 911 Enable, Aastra (News - Alert) USA will be able to offer its clients a more comprehensive IP telephony system that includes automated E911 management capabilities.

Specifically, the agreement enables Aastra USA to provide its customer base with a telephony solution that is integrated with 911 Enable's Emergency Gateway (EGW) appliance, which offers secure, flexible and reliable support for nearly every leading IP-PBX platform.

The Emergency Gateway (News - Alert) is designed to enable large enterprises, college campuses and other organizations to track the location of a distress call, and then relay the information to onsite security personnel and emergency responders. The EGW provides this service whether the call is made an organization's campus, or from a branch office or a remote location. The onsite appliance also offers emergency call monitoring, routing and reporting capabilities.

“911 Enable is excited to partner with Aastra USA as a reseller of our Emergency Gateway,” Lev Deich, Director of 911 Enable, noted in a statement. “The Emergency Gateway is designed to complement IP-based communications systems like Aastra Clearspan, and this agreement will help make it easier for Aastra customers to implement E911 capabilities for their entire deployment.”

Clearspan is one of the telephony market's most popular VoIP network platforms, providing enterprises with a fully integrated unified communications solution that includes feature-rich applications like unified messaging, business conferencing and call center functionality. Clearspan enables enterprise employees to communicate through a variety of mediums -- all from one device and from nearly any location.

“E911 capabilities are an important consideration to enterprises deploying VoIP solutions,” said Tim Whittington, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Aastra USA. “We are pleased to be able to offer a comprehensive solution like 911 Enable to our customers.”
