NextAlarm to Add VoIP Video Surveillance to Broadband Alarm Services

NextAlarm, The Broadband Alarm Company, has announced it is adding video monitoring services to its VoIP-based alarm monitoring services for homes and small businesses, a service is has labeled NEXTVIEW. NEXTVIEW works with existing alarm systems and is easy to set up, view, and manage through the customer portal interface at NextAlarm.com (News
). Each camera can be associated with one or more zones (i.e., front door, back door view, kitchen window, etc.).
Subscribers can also access images through their cell phones, as the system captures still photos every few minutes, and switches to live video during an alarm event. Archived video and stills can be reviewed any time. NextAlarm’s dispatch centers also have access to view cameras when an alarm is triggered.
“NEXTVIEW is perfect for the family or small business that needs that extra layer of security, but doesn’t have the budget for a dedicated video surveillance system,” said Alex Elliot, NextAlarm’s founder and CEO. “No other alarm company is offering this type of service for such a low price.”
NEXTVIEW is currently compatible with popular self-installable wireless cameras, and NextAlarm is working on expanding compatibility with other cameras as it looks to grow its video surveillance system over time.
The company says it will offer a free trial period of NEXTVIEW existing NextAlarm subscribers through July 1, 2007. After that, there will be a nominal fee for use of video services, based upon storage requirements, the number of cameras the customer has installed, and how long they want to archive video.
