AAPT Division Reaches VoIP Milestone
By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributing Editor
AAPT's IProvide recently announced that they have installed their 2000th business-grade VoIP service in the SME market. The IProvide Partner Program delivers sophisticated, business grade VoIP and data networking solutions to SMEs, with more than 120 partners in place in Australia.
iProvide provides a converged voice, Internet and VPN solution for small businesses which is delivered over a single broadband link onto the business site. The package is available through a channel of value-added resellers.
"The decision by an increasing number of SMEs to dispense with their traditional Key Telephone Systems (KTS) and in some cases PBXs, in favor of fully hosted telephony services, is an emerging market trend,” said Phil Sykes, IProvide's managing director. He added, "This is clearly evidenced by the type of IProvide Office sales that we have experienced to date. With over 2000 business-grade VoIP lines now installed, the momentum for this trend is really starting to be borne out in sales and points to immense future market opportunities."
According to the company, businesses benefit from the converged service by saving on line rentals and usage charges along with utilizing more voice (VoIP) lines and faster Internet services, and from the flexibility in being able to better integrate voice calls with IT applications. Businesses can readily add to and change voice and data end points across multiple business sites.
Sykes said "These trends are clearly signaling unstoppable changes to the current business models of carriers and office phone system equipment vendors."
