Clearwire to Expand Santa Rosa County Customer Care Call Center Services

Expansion plans of its East Milton customer care call center services facility at the Santa Rosa Industrial Park have been announced by Clearwire (News - Alert) Corporation. Clearwire is a top provider of wireless broadband services and is also the operator of the biggest 4G network in the country.

Eric Petrosevich, director of customer operations for Clearwire said, “Clearwire is building the largest 4G wireless network in the nation. The expansion of our call center in East Milton will allow us to better support the needs of our growing customer base. We're excited to provide great service to CLEAR customers around the country, as well as contribute to job creation in our local community.”

According to Gov. Charlie Crist, Santa Rosa County has received a major economic development opportunity with this significant growth of Clearwire’s operations. The Governor applauded all the business and government partners who made this expansion happen. The Governor added with this news, Florida’s economy has received a boost as job creation is of critical importance.

Bob Cole, Santa Rosa County Commissioner said, “This project is a prime example of how progressive the commission is in working with TEAM Santa Rosa to create jobs for citizens in the county. An expansion of this size is a significant opportunity for the Santa Rosa Industrial Park and a huge economic win for East Milton.”

CLEAR 4G, take-it-with-you Internet service is provided by Clearwire to businesses and consumers. The Internet can be used by anyone at speeds which are four times faster than 3G with CLEAR. Within CLEAR coverage, users be it at home, in the office or on the go can avail these speeds.

A customer call center with 20 employees was established by Clearwire in Santa Rosa County in 2007. Over a three-year period, the company had aimed to create 300 jobs. This estimate was surpassed by the company in 2009 by reaching the 500-employee mark.

Shannon Ogletree, Associate Director of TEAM Santa Rosa Economic Development Council reasserted that Clearwire has been a tremendous asset to the County. Clearwire will be the biggest single private employer in the county with this expansion.
