Phonetic Systems, a leader in global
real-time speech recognition solutions, today announced a reseller
agreement with leading voice applications company Gold Europe Ltd. Gold
Europe will act as a value-added reseller for selling Phonetic Systems’
software and applications to the UK call center and enterprise markets.
Through the partnership, Gold Europe will resell Phonetic Systems’ Voice
Search Engine (VSE) as well as the company’s pre-packaged applications
such as PhoneticOperator. With the addition of Phonetic Systems’ software,
Gold Europe can now offer a full range of powerful speech-enabled
solutions to its current and potential clients in the UK. Gold Europe’s
development expertise will allow them to also perform application
development and provide superior support to its customers.

Phonetic Systems’ patented VSE is standards-based with an open API. It can
provide a variety of standalone applications or it can be integrated into
any platform or environment. The VSE can power a large variety of
voice-automated applications such as identity management, information
retrieval, address change, customer care, call routing, virtual calling
card, and password reset. Distinctively, the VSE has the ability to search
highly dynamic datasets of information with automatic performance
optimization. The VSE’s patented technology provides specialized directory
preparation techniques to automatically tune data for speech access
regardless of directory size, how much new data is being added or how
often. For the customer, this means that speech tuning costs are
eliminated, overall customer satisfaction is higher and they receive a
faster return on investment.

Gold Europe plans to expand its development facility out of their current
operation in the WDA’s @Wales Digital Media Initiative facility in Cardiff
Bay, to enable the development of additional packaged applications for
specific vertical markets. Their focus will be set not only on traditional
speech recognition areas, namely the call centre market, but also on the
development of packaged applications for the CRM market. Making use of new
technologies such as Voice XML and VSE, Gold will be developing
applications that integrate the use of mobile phones and current web
infrastructures. Gold Europe has delivered custom applications to many
blue chip companies adding significant value to their businesses.
Applications such as a full telephone banking suite for the Bank of
Ireland, multiple applications for guiding BskyB callers to the
appropriately skilled advisors and enabling callers to automatically
process their orders with QVC in Germany. Other clients include
Centreparcs, IBM, JPMorgan, UPS, BT, Sommerfields, Proctor and Gamble,
Cofinga and Cigna Healthcare.
