Rockliffe Rolls Out MailSite Version 6
Rockliffe, Inc. announced
availability of MailSite version 6 for service providers, enterprises and
small/medium businesses. MailSite 6 features an anti-spam engine to block
spam at the server, before it gets to the recipient. The spam scan engine
is
tightly integrated with improved Sieve filters at the system, domain and
user levels.
MailSite Spam Filter uses a unique “cocktail” approach of spam
fighting technologies to block spam while avoiding false positives.
MailSite Spam Filter uses heuristic analysis, pattern matching, spam
definitions, white lists and black lists.
MailSite includes the ability to protect corporate data, further reduce
spam by detecting directory harvest attacks and automatically dropping the
harvester’s connection and blacklisting the IP address for a
configurable period of time. Spammers use directory harvest attacks to
steal corporate directories. Then use the information to make their spam
attacks easier for themselves and more costly to recipients. In addition
to the obvious spam problem, directory harvest attacks can cause
performance degradation issues while the harvesting action is in progress.
MailSite detects these attacks, automatically drops inbound harvest
connections, and then denies future connections to the sender, thus
safeguarding sensitive corporate data.
MailSite’s anti-virus filters are faster and more efficient than
ever, for
increased message throughput. MailSite’s improved IMAP performance is up
to
five times faster than previous versions, which means faster message
access
for the end-user. Fewer MailSite servers are required to handle the same
number of users, which translates to easier administration and lower total
cost of ownership
