Far Out! Sprint Managed Network
Services Go Beyond WAN, To LAN Servers And Applications
Sprint announced an enhanced portfolio of managed network services with
a range of options designed to meet the diverse needs of customers looking
for network operations expertise. Sprint has enhanced its standard managed
network solutions to offer standardized and custom managed networking
services.
Sprint Managed Network ServicesSM go beyond monitoring and management
of WAN and internetworking hardware to include LAN device monitoring and
management and LAN server and application monitoring. Sprint Managed
Network Services portfolio extends to monitoring any transport provider
for frame relay, ATM, IP or private line.
Sprint offers customized managed network solutions for data, voice,
WAN, LAN server, application infrastructures and advanced technology
solutions including VPNs, security and convergence. By partnering with
customers to identify the best solutions from among a set of standardized
elements, Sprint can deliver flexible and unique offerings with the
implementation speed customers require.
Custom managed network solutions also provide a team dedicated to
overseeing implementation by coordinating provisioning and installation at
all sites. This implementation project plan enables Sprint to provide
customers historical data demonstrating a consistent record for on-time
performance.
"Sprint is raising the bar among carrier providers by moving
beyond the WAN to provide standard and custom solutions for customers'
entire networks," said Tim Donahue, vice president, marketing,
Sprint. "This offers customers a single point of contact for a fully
managed solution. With Sprint, customers gain a networking partner that is
financially stable, has 100 years of communications experience and
recognized performance reliability."
The demand for managed services has grown at Sprint as customers seek
ways to control costs and predict IT budget without sacrificing network
performance or capabilities, with the number of devices Sprint manages
growing 52 percent over the past eight months. In addition to the
day-to-day tasks associated with maintaining mission-critical
applications, Sprint can relieve customers of the responsibility to keep
pace with rapidly changing and increasingly complex technologies necessary
to do so. Using a tool that analyzes a customer's unique needs and current
network costs, Sprint provides a realistic accounting of network
management costs to demonstrate the full value of managed services and to
determine a customer's best options.
Sprint Managed Network Services offer a single, integrated operations
center and Web portal interface for all devices managed. These services
are available in more than 100 countries and are backed by service level
agreements.
