Adomo Voice Gateway Enables Enterprises To
Voice-Enable Corporate Applications
Adomo, Inc. announced the
availability of the AdomoMCS Voice Gateway, a self-maintaining server
appliance designed to run any VXML application. This stand-alone solution
enables enterprises to voice-enable existing applications without the
hassle and confusion of complicated infrastructure changes and high costs.
The AdomoMCS Voice Gateway is a highly integrated system that combines
telephone or PBX interfaces, voice processing hardware and software,
network interfaces and associated hardware in a single plug-and-play
appliance. The AdomoMCS Voice Gateway is compliant with the VXML 2.0
standard to assure maximum capability with voice-enabled applications. It
utilizes state-of-the-art automatic voice recognition and text-to-speech
engines for a reliable, intuitive interface. AdomoMCS voice caching
enhances performance and speeds up system response. All of the components
of the system are designed and optimized to work together providing an
easily managed voice interface for enterprise applications.
Enterprises using the AdomoMCS Voice Gateway can now mass deploy
critical business VXML applications, better enabling functions such as
remote access to email, throughout their entire organizations at a very
reasonable cost. The end-user learning curve for the Adomo system is
typically short, because all thats required is mastery of a few simple
voice commands, and end-users are already familiar with the only needed
device a phone.
Voice is the most natural form of communication, said Jeff
Snider, CEO of Adomo. Enabling voice access to existing applications,
such as email, CRM and personal identification, results in immediate
productivity gains without expensive and difficult-to-manage wireless
devices and services.
Adomos first partner for the AdomoMCS Voice Gateway is Oracle, which
has tested interoperability of the gateway with the wireless and voice
capabilities of Oracle9i Application Server for hosting applications for
enterprise customers.
While our customers have always been excited about the possibilities
of mobile enabling applications through a voice interface, some were
concerned with the associated infrastructure complexities of voice
gateways, said Jacob Christfort, vice president of Product Development
for Oracle's Mobile Products and Services division. Adomo is helping
address these complexities by providing a voice gateway appliance that is
easy to understand and implement, and which interoperates with our
multi-channel Oracle9i Application Server.
The AdomoMCS is completely scalable to fit the needs of organizations
of any size. The basic system comes with 12 analog telephone ports that
connect to virtually any PBX. The top of the line system has four T1
channels providing 96 voice ports. Gateways of other port sizes are also
available; and the system is easily scaled by adding additional AdomoMCS
appliances to fit any organizations growing needs.
The gateway appliance is securely installed 100 percent behind the
corporate firewall. Voice is the only connection to the system through a
public network, assuring maximum security.
The key for enterprises is to make their existing applications, like
email, work wirelessly, versus building and investing in new applications
that require new infrastructure and complicated end-user learning curves,
said Claudia Bacco, president of industry analyst firm TeleChoice.
