Silver Telecom Announces Ringing SLIC With Integrated DC-DC Converter For Short Loop Applications

Silver Telecom announced a ringing SLIC (subscriber line interface circuit) with fully integrated DC-DC converter. Targeted at the VoIP, VoDSL, CTI, IAD, WLL and other short loop application markets, the integral DC-DC converter needs only a +5V supply and eliminates the need for external battery voltages (typically -75V for ringing and -48V for normal operation). This confers significant cost, space and design time savings on telecom equipment developers.

The Ag1160 provides the complete analog interface for one telephone line, and is packaged in a DIL format. Backed by the Silver Telecom "design-in" assistance which provides specialist analog interface advice as required, allowing telecom developers to concentrate on key competencies, the Ag1160 provides a quick route to market for developers of the latest telecom equipment.

Production volumes of the single channel Ag1160 are available immediately, and the 4-channel Ag1460 will be released in July.

Silver Telecom develops, markets and sells analog telecom interface solutions including SLICs and Trunk Interfaces (including DAAs and COICs).
