Advantech's 2U High-Availability CompactPCI
Platform Is Suited For Mission-Critical Applications In Hazardous
Environments
Advantech Network Computing
announced its MIC-3056, 2U-high CompactPCI high availability platform. The
MIC-3056 is guaranteed to satisfy carriers' and service providers'
requirements for today's most demanding applications. On top of its
stability, the MIC-3056 is compact and easily maintained.
Designed from a 2U height CompactPCI enclosure, the MIC-3056 can
allocate four 6U CompactPCI CPU boards. In addition to being
cost-effective and space-conscious, the modular design of the CPU board is
hot-swappable in front; allowing efficient installation, maintenance, and
upgradability.
The hot-swappable fan conveniently assists users when managing and
maintaining the system. The MIC-3056 also monitors the internal
temperature to avoid any over-heating from occurring. The 300W 1 +1
redundant ATX power supply design not only enhances its reliability but
also makes this 2U platform especially suitable for mission-critical
applications in hazardous environments.
The CT bus is H.110 compliant (PICMG 2.5) and rear I/O is supported.
The MIC-3056's most unique feature is that a single slot can also be
planned as a media slot to facilitate storage system expansion. For
example, the MIC-3960, a newly launched Advantech media board, can fit
perfectly into this media slot. The MIC-3056 meets all CompactPCI open
architecture standards. It is compatible with all Advantech CompactPCI
boards, in addition to numerous other CompactPCI boards from other
manufacturers.
