Trillium Enhances SIGTRAN Solution With New SUA
Offering, Enabling Phone Services Over Converged Networks
Trillium Digital Systems, Inc.
has added the new Signaling Connection Control Part (SCCP) User Adaptation
Layer (SUA) software to its portfolio of Signaling System 7
(SS7)-over-Internet Protocol (IP) (SIGTRAN) solutions for enabling
telecommunications carriers to implement phone services in a converged
network environment.
Trillium's SUA signaling software enables legacy and next-generation
networks to communicate and interact in providing end-user services such
as automatic call-back and mobile roaming over packet-based networks.
Trillium's SUA continues the company's commitment of offering quality and
open-standards solutions.
Trillium joined other industry leaders at the recently completed
International Engineering Task Force's Message Transfer Part Level 3 User
Adaptation Layer (M3UA) Bake Off, where the company successfully completed
interoperability testing for its M3UA signaling software.
"The SUA layer is our latest SIGTRAN offering aimed at helping
customers maximize their investment and value of legacy equipment,"
said Frank Morese, vice president of marketing for Trillium Digital
Systems, Inc. "This is another example of how Trillium is helping
users minimize costs while offering the latest technologies that conform
to changing standards and customer needs."
The availability of Trillium's SUA further expands the company's IP
telephony offerings, enabling Trillium to offer customers one of the
telecommunications industry's most comprehensive SIGTRAN product
portfolios. Other Trillium SIGTRAN offerings include the Stream Control
Transmission Protocol (SCTP), M3UA, and the Integrated Services Digital
Network Q.921 User Adaptation Layer.
SIGTRAN can be integrated into products such as Signaling Gateways,
Media Gateway Controllers, IP-resident databases, Third Generation Serving
General Packet Radio Service Support Nodes, Radio Network Controllers, and
SoftSwitches to accelerate development of converged voice and data
solutions. This technology extends the value of carriers' legacy telephone
networks by transporting voice traffic over IP-based networks using
various protocol components, including SCTP.
