Speaklink Expands Voice Offerings Through Partnership With Envox

Speaklink, a leader in VoiceXML hosting services and developer tools, will now offer both hosted and on-premise custom developed enterprise solutions and packaged communications infrastructure products which will be built with the Envox 4.0 Communications Development Platform, the Windows-based communications server and development software. The types of solutions to be offered by Speaklink include speech-enabled call center systems, voice response solutions, voice portals and enterprise solutions.

Two of the first enterprise solutions to be developed are an automated job application line for a healthcare provider and a package pick-up notification application for drivers on the road. Speaklink will not only provide custom development and integration services using the Envox software but will also host the applications for both companies.

In addition, Speaklink plans to release packaged products also designed with the Envox Communications Development Platform including a speech-enabled auto attendant and stand-alone voice response applications. Speaklink clients can either purchase these products for on-premise installations or utilize them via the Speaklink host.

Speaklink has taken the service provider model one step further and will offer hosting services to other Envox developers looking to either test or fully deploy the solutions they have designed. This is ideal for prototype evaluations, for demonstrations to potential customers or investors and for clients that want to launch innovative services without dealing with hardware investments, upgrades or maintenance.

"Speaklink has an innovative business model that provides companies with a variety of ways to meet their communications needs, especially in view of today's uncertain economic conditions," stated Theodore Davenport, director of sales for Envox (US) Ltd.

The Envox Communications Development Platform was designed to improve time to market for convergent communications solutions. It features a GUI programming environment that offers telephony, web, IP, speech processing, database, fax and email capabilities on one platform.

"By capitalizing on Envox's proven ability to combine advanced capabilities in an elegant programming environment, we can immediately expand our solution set and grow our business," stated Ton Yazici, Speaklink's vice president of business development.
