GTV Launches SONORK-EIM, Unveils
Customers Of Enterprise IM
GTV announced the launch of Sonork-EIM, a reliable, extensible,
feature-rich enterprise instant messaging solution. Leading the evolution
from IM to EIM, GTV's Sonork-EIM enables businesses to dramatically reduce
costs and improve workflow.
The company also announced deployments of Sonork-EIM by a wide array of
Fortune 1000 customers and other top concerns. Customers using Sonork-EIM
include AT&T, Commerzbank, Electronic Data Systems (EDS), Eolas
Technologies, Ericsson Austria, Hewlett-Packard Asia-Pacific, The
Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Title Data, Inc. (TDI), The United Nations Refugee
Agency, and many others. GTV's solutions are currently in-use by more than
5,000 businesses, government agencies and consumer media brands worldwide.
The new Sonork-EIM product enables rapid deployment of presence-based
messaging, localization, and collaborative networks within a secure
enterprise environment. Sonork-EIM is built atop GTV's powerful Sonork
Application Platform - which is deployment tested and features an
extensible design that provides the flexibility to create custom
applications tailored for each customer's needs.
Sonork-EIM significantly improves workflow by seamlessly integrating
with existing data sources and third-party enterprise application suites.
The solution enables rapid internal communications that are archivable for
accurate record-keeping, while its secure peer-to-peer data transfer
reduces email server costs and is scalable for future enterprise
information transfer needs. Sonork-EIM's robust server boasts an extremely
small footprint and is installed behind a customer's firewall, supporting
both intranet and extranet configurations.
"Just as email revolutionized global business, GTV's Sonork-EIM
pushes the progression toward maximum communications efficiency and is
driving the inevitable widespread adoption of presence-based messaging in
the workplace," said Ken Mayer, GTV Chairman and CEO. "Although
free consumer IM services have driven global proliferation of the basic
technology, successful enterprise implementation requires more than just
re-packaging popular consumer software with additional security.
Sonork-EIM was built exclusively for enterprise usage, offering the
advanced functionality, network integration and stability that businesses
demand; while reducing costs associated with other existing means of
communication."
Dan Keldsen, Senior Analyst, Delphi Group said: "Instant Messaging
in the enterprise is mired in confusion. Clearly it's not going away - nor
should it! Organizations need to see beyond the cute emoticons of consumer
IM, or the 'it's too dangerous' thinking. Enterprises need to embrace IM
as the next generation of messaging, enabling a wave of 'presence-enabled'
apps that tie people and resources into a (near-) real-time engine for
business."
Sonork-EIM includes the standard features users expect from instant
messaging applications (e.g. one-to-one and multiple user conferencing,
file transfer, personal user lists, etc.) and offers a client interface
that conforms to what users expect from IM, but is distinguished by unique
features built specially for enterprise users. With functionality that
extends far beyond consumer IM services, the Sonork EIM product is
designed to bolster a company's ability to manage and store
business-critical information generated through internal collaboration or
external client-vendor interaction.
