GN Netcom 2.4 GHz Wireless Headset Offers Freedom, Security For Enterprise Users

GN Netcom introduced the new GN 9050, a wireless headset system offering 150 feet of mobility and 2.4 GHz security at an affordable price.

Incredibly lightweight and compact, the GN 9050 is the first solution that allows busy professionals the mobility and freedom to answer, conduct and end phone calls while up to150 feet away from their telephones. The new system features 2.4 GHz Digital Spread Spectrum (DSS) technology for secure telephone conversations and the clearest voice quality available in a wireless headset system.

"The GN 9050 is an ideal product for first-time users of wireless headsets who want to experience all the benefits of hands-free mobility, with the added security of 2.4 GHz wireless technology," said Anthony M. DiIulio, senior vice president and general manager, GN Netcom, Inc. "With the introduction of the new GN 9050, we've now made wireless freedom in the office a secure and affordable option."

GN Netcom's new GN 9050 wireless remote beltpack allows office workers to multi-task in comfort, resulting in increased effectiveness and productivity. Weighing only 4 ounces and only 3 1/2 inches wide, the unit can be clipped onto a belt or waistband for easy, all-day wearing. With the remote answer feature, workers can answer an incoming call, retrieve a file, or walk down the hall to consult with a colleague, without interrupting their conversation.

Sound quality and secure conversations are ensured with advanced 2.4 GHz Digital Spread Spectrum technology. These features are particularly appealing to industries that handle highly confidential information, such as legal, financial, banking, securities trading, medical, and the government. Unlike older technologies (such as 900 MHz) that transmit on a single, crowded channel and result in static and "crosstalk," the new 2.4 GHz DSS technology switches channels at 90 hops per second, always seeking and selecting the clearest channel. DSS technology makes it virtually impossible to 'break in' to a channel and overhear conversations, and the less crowded spectrum can accommodate up to 50 users in a concentrated area without a problem.

Designed for the ultimate in flexibility, the GN 9050 comes equipped with a 2.5 mm jack, allowing for easy plug-in to any headset, including the GN Netcom M200 convertible. That same headset can then be used in the office, car and home. For customers who already own a GN Netcom headset, the system comes with a 2.5 mm-to-GN Netcom Quick Disconnect (QD) for quick headset to beltpack connection.

GN Netcom's new 2.4 GHz wireless headset system comes in two package options: the GN 9050, which includes the base station, remote beltpack unit, and a 2.5 mm headset adapter cord, priced at $249; and the GN 9050 HS, which includes the base station, remote beltpack unit, and a GN Netcom M200 convertible headset with a noise canceling microphone, priced at $279.

Optional accessories include the handset lifter for remote call answering, and an additional 6-hour battery.
