UniPress Reinforces Commitment To UNIX
Environment With FootPrints For IBM AIX Platform
UniPress Software announced that
its FootPrints help desk software now supports IBM AIX 5 systems using
Oracle and MySQL databases. This new version of FootPrints expands the
company's support for the UNIX environment, offering this powerful
web-based platform to centralize and automate internal help desk
operations, external support processes, and online self-service.
FootPrints is currently available in a broad range of databases, operating
systems, and platforms, including Windows NT/2000, UNIX, and Linux.
FootPrints support for IBM AIX enables organizations to leverage their
existing UNIX investment, and harness this infrastructure to centralize
all help desk and support activities, processes, and data. A completely
web-based solution, FootPrints makes it extremely easy for organizations
to improve the efficiency and responsiveness of their help desk and
support activities. Among the many features, the software includes
centralized problem tracking and management, task automation,
comprehensive knowledge management, email integration, and LDAP
integration with corporate contact address books.
IBM AIX offers a powerful and scalable UNIX platform, integrating
innovative technologies to achieve maximum performance, reliability, and
flexibility. IBM AIX runs across the entire range of RS/6000 systems,
scaling not only across systems of different sizes, but different
technologies and hardware platforms. The new version of FootPrints for AIX
5 can easily accommodate the growing needs of today's service and support
environments.
"We continue to develop new versions of FootPrints to support a
range of operating systems, platforms, and databases, making it easy for
organizations to quickly deploy a web-based system to streamline their
help desk and support operations, regardless of their existing IT
environment," explained Mark Krieger, President of UniPress.
"With expanded support for Oracle and MySQL databases on the IBM AIX
system, our customers can expand their use of FootPrints and scale their
support operations accordingly."
