WaveRider Offers Two New Wireless Broadband
Starter Kits For Service Providers
WaveRider Communications Inc.
has added two new wireless Starter Kits to its Last Mile Solution (LMS)
family of products. With the addition of the new 2.4 GHz and Dual Band LMS
Starter Kits, the LMS family now offers cost-effective solutions for
service providers to install and deploy commercial-grade wireless networks
for commercial and residential markets.
The 2.4 GHz and Dual Band LMS Starter Kits are complete wireless
Internet access systems designed to facilitate the roll out of high-speed
wireless services to businesses in areas that do not have broadband
access. The 2.4 GHz LMS Starter Kit includes the wireless equipment
required to establish a network to deliver 11 Mbps connections to
commercial Internet subscribers. The Dual Band LMS Starter Kit delivers both 11 Mbps line-of-sight and 2.75 Mbps
non-line-of-sight wireless Internet service, all with a single entry-level
system.
"The success of our first LMS Starter Kit, which was launched in
January, indicates the tremendous need among service providers for
cost-effective solutions to install or expand their wireless
networks," said Charles Brown, Vice President of Sales and Marketing,
WaveRider Communications Inc. "The family of LMS Starter Kits now
available offers solutions to deliver high-speed wireless service to
large, medium and small businesses, home offices, and residential
subscribers, all at entry-level prices."
The launch of the two new LMS Starter Kits follows the introduction of
WaveRider's Non-Line-of-Sight LMS Starter Kit in January of this year. The
non-line-of-sight system has been ordered by more than twenty service
providers throughout the United States, and WaveRider has already received
follow up orders from LMS operators who are expanding their
non-line-of-sight networks.
"WaveRider's LMS Starter Kits were designed and priced to support
a profitable business model for service providers," said Brown.
"For years, service providers have had only two options for
delivering wireless services: invest in a large system before they had a
subscriber base to support the cost; or build individual wireless links as
needed. The LMS Starter Kits are the first fully-networked wireless
systems that enable service providers to start with a basic system and
easily expand their network while protecting their initial investment.
The 2.4 GHz LMS Starter Kit is a complete wireless system that delivers
11 Mbps commercial-grade Internet service via the license-exempt 2.4 GHz
spectrum. The system delivers 25 dBm transmit power for a range of up to
10 miles without the need for an external amplifier, and supports up to 30
users. The 2.4 GHz LMS Starter Kit includes one CCU2000 Kit, three
Wireless End User Modems (EUM2000), two Yagi antennas and two Lightning
Arrestors.
The Dual Band LMS Starter Kit enables service providers to deliver
commercial and residential grade service with a single network. It
combines WaveRider's 902 MHz non-line-of-sight system with the company's
11 Mbps 2.4 GHz commercial network to serve a variety of end-users.
The Dual Band LMS Starter Kit includes a CCU3000 Kit and 20-subscriber
license, one CCU2000 Kit, one CCU Shelf, six Wireless End User Modems
(EUM3000) with indoor antennas, three Wireless End User Modems (EUM2000),
two Yagi antennas, two Lightning Arrestors, and one 902 MHz Patch Antenna.
The Non-Line-of-Sight LMS4000 Starter Kit consists of a single base
station (CCU3000 communication channel unit), six LMS3000 end-user modems
with indoor antennas and the accessories required to prepare for system
deployment. The CCU supports up to 20 subscribers with the ability to
increase system capacity through the purchase of software upgrades. The
LMS4000 Starter Kit operates in the license-exempt 900 MHz spectrum, with
over-the-air data rates of 2.75 Mbps via non-line-of-sight wireless
connections. The wireless modem and indoor antenna are designed for easy
installation by subscribers, eliminating the need for professional
installations.
Each WaveRider LMS Starter Kit includes product certification and
training at the company's headquarters in Toronto and WaveRider priority
e-mail support for three months. Service providers will also receive a 902
MHz single location coverage area prediction plot for the
non-line-of-sight equipment (in the U.S. only) and three 2.4 GHz link
budget evaluations for the 2.4 GHz equipment.
Each LMS Starter Kit is easily expandable to support up to thousands of
users.
