Voxeo Offers Hosted CCXML Implementation For Building Advanced Call Control Functionality

Voxeo Corporation announced availability of a hosted implementation of Call Control eXtensible Markup Language (CCXML) based on the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) public release of the CCXML Working Draft. Voxeo's implementation of CCXML, accessible through Voxeo Community on their Web site, dramatically reduces the time it takes voice application developers to create and deploy advanced call control scenarios from several months using previous proprietary languages to just weeks using CCXML on Voxeo's platform.

CCXML is an open-standards markup language that works independently or with VoiceXML to add advanced call control features to business voice applications that run on Internet technology-based integrated voice services platforms such as Voxeo Voice Centers. Businesses can quickly take advantage of advanced call control features like conferencing, call center integration, outbound notification, and intelligent call routing capabilities such as find-me/follow-me to reduce contact center operating costs and enhance customer satisfaction.

"As an editor of the CCXML working draft, Voxeo is excited to fully endorse and support the W3C's efforts by introducing one of the first implementations of CCXML," said RJ Auburn, Chief Network Architect at Voxeo, and Managing Editor of the W3C Call Control Committee's CCXML Working Draft. "This marks an exciting step toward world wide acceptance of the call control standard."

Web developers use programming languages like Perl, PHP, ColdFusion, Silverstream, ASP and JSP to create applications that users can view on traditional Web browsers via HTML. Voxeo Community offers all the tools and resources that make it as easy to use those same technologies to create Web-based, business applications for telephones, using phone markup languages such as CCXML and VoiceXML. Standardization of call control within an XML framework helps developers leverage their Web programming backgrounds to quickly create call control applications.
