EYECAST Releases Full Motion
Streaming Media Service
EYECAST Corporation
announced EyeView 6.0. Available immediately, the EyeView 6.0 streaming
media service is based on MPEG-4 standards and incorporates proprietary
streaming technology that runs 30 times faster than earlier versions at 30
frames per second. EyeView products deliver secure access to video content
from any computer linked to the Internet for business applications such as
remote merchandising, marketing, visual collaboration, security, loss
prevention, and asset management.
"EyeView 6.0 is a major advancement in our technology
because it allows for a higher quality viewing experience regardless of
your Internet connection speed," said Shaun Amini, founder and CEO of
EYECAST. "Businesses in the retail, hospitality, telecommunications,
and financial industries can use EyeView for immediate, visual access to
any of their locations, from anywhere in the world, at anytime over the
Internet."
EyeView 6.0 is designed to maintain the integrity of the
video even during a network or circuit failure because of its redundant
storage capabilities located on and off-site. The service can also
leverage a much smaller network connection, such as a Plain Old Telephone
Service (POTS) line, for video content acquisition. Less bandwidth
requirements and faster frame rates give customers more options to choose
from while also increasing the viewing experience and marketing applications,
while decreasing the installation time of the EyeView service.
"Retailers can now provide marketing personnel with
valuable real-time information by allowing them access to the video feeds
from in-store cameras piped directly to their desktops," said Andrew
Johnson, a vice president at Gartner Dataquest. "Gartner Dataquest
believes retailers should strongly consider the use of in-store video
feeds as management and marketing tools."
Similar to EyeView 5.0, which is based on motion JPEG
technology, EyeView 6.0 offers pan, tilt, and zoom capabilities. Users can
remotely control cameras from any location via a standard Web browser;
share video simultaneously with authorized users, and digitally store and
archive video for an unlimited amount of time off-site at EYECAST's video
warehouse. EYECAST also offers customers 24x7 network monitoring to help
ensure their video is always available at any time, from any location.
EyeView provides a scalable and highly reliable streaming video service
based on the IBM Mainframe platform providing 99.999 percent uptime.
EyeView 6.0 is available immediately and is currently
being deployed at various locations throughout the country. Monthly
pricing ranges from $50 to $200 per camera, depending on the frame rate,
storage length and total number of cameras.
