Arista Debuts Intel 845 Pentium 4-Based Full-Size
SBC With Onboard VGA And LAN
Arista Corporation announced the
release of its latest single board computer, the SBC-F9710VL. This CPU
card incorporates the Intel advanced 845 Chipset Memory Controller hub and
supports 478-pin Intel Pentium 4 processors of 1.3GHz to 2GHz. The
SBC-F9710VL represents the perfect choice for those who want the highest
level of computing performance available on a single board computer, for
rugged and demanding applications in industrial automation, image
processing, multimedia and telecommunications.
The SBC-F9710VL also features 400MHz front side bus speed (triple the
rate of current 133MHz FSB CPUs), 256K cache on CPU and up to 3GB of SDRAM
support. An ATI Rage 128 Pro controller with 4x AGP and 16MB memory on
board delivers powerful video performance and capability. The ATI Rage 128
Pro is the most reliable yet flexible solution for the Pentium 4 chip, the
latest generation of Intel microprocessor that bundles enhanced video
performance and features. Current P4 chips can run at a bus speed of
1.4GHz and boast a CPU clock rate of 2GHz, compared to the Pentium III
processor which runs at 1.1GHz.
Its Intel 845 core logic chip achieves a current maximum capacity of 3GB
SDRAM via the three DIMM slots onboard, while its Socket 478 architecture
invites an even wider range of future P4 processors.
Designed for increased VGA functionality, the Pentium 4 onboard the
SBC-F9710VL easily handles the most tedious computing tasks while
delivering enhanced VGA performance. In addition to its ATI VGA chip, the
SBC-F9710VL pushes graphical functions to the limit with a DVI interface
that provides LCD panel support for flat displays. Video applications
include video on demand, video streaming, video over IP, 3D rendering and
animation.
The networking capabilities of the Arista SBC-F9710VL incorporate the
Intel ICH2 and 562 chips embedding 10/100 base T/TX LAN. The board also
fits perfectly into network security systems and as the core set to
application servers. For CTI integration deploying multi-segmented
backplanes, the SBC-F9710VL delivers high video quality without
sacrificing system operations. Driver support includes Windows 95/98/2000,
Windows NT, Netware, SCO Open Server 5.0 and Linux.
Additional flexibility is provided by two USB ports, two enhanced IDE
interfaces supporting up to four IDE devices, Ultra DMA 33/66/100 support,
floppy disk controller, PS/2 keyboard and mouse connectors, watchdog timer
and an on-chip RTC clock/calendar with battery backup.
