mobilecast and Nissan have jointly developed a new iPod Bluetooth Transmitter for cars, which is compatible with Nissan's CARWINGS HDD navigation system and allows users to listen to music downloaded into their iPods, in their cars, wirelessly.
mobilecast, a wireless solutions provider tops the Japanese hands-free market with 20 percent market share and has been developing several new products and services based on wireless technology.
The Bluetooth protocol of the product connects the HDD navigation system of the car with an iPod wirelessly while the iPod is tucked in a bag, clothing, or just placed on the seat. This gives the driver of the car freedom from wires and the ability to listen to music hands-free.
The company is expanding its business worldwide, with an eye to the European and Asian markets where Bluetooth embedded mobile phones are popular by proactively introducing wireless solutions in Japan and plans to enter the UK with mobilecast UK Ltd.
As a solutions vendor that focuses on wireless personal area networking (PAN), mobilecast worked with Nissan in developing and marketing an iPod Bluetooth Transmitter with hopes of drawing considerable attention to users as a model intelligent wireless solution for ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems and Services).
