Nokia has stated that the Nokia ( News - Alert) N97 mobile phone will be now available in the US market. The phone comes with a live widget home screen that lets users to get instant news updates, see and share anything in their social networks and access content, info and entertainment from around the world.
According to Nokia, its N97 is an advanced mobile computer and is designed for needs of internet-savvy consumers. The Nokia N97 combines a large 3.5" touch display with a full QWERTY keyboard, providing an 'always open' window to favorite social networking sites and Internet destinations. The phone also comes with a lot of newer technologies like multiple sensors, memory, processing power and connection speeds for people to create a personal Internet and share their social location.
Alessandro Lamanna, Vice President, Sales, Retail, Nokia commented that ever since the Nokia N97 was announced December 2008 they could see the anticipation and excitement for the phone build around the globe and across the United States. Mobile devices keep on changing and consumers are demanding for a device that takes interactivity to another level. The Nokia N97 and its feature set - including its widgetized home screen - provide consumers with the mobile solution they've been looking for.
The Nokia N97 supports up to 48 GB of storage, including 32 GB of on-board memory, expandable with a 16 GB microSD card for music, media and more. It has full support for the Nokia music store and continuous playback time of up to one and a half days. The 5 mega pixel camera has Carl Zeiss optics and is capable of 16:9 and DVD quality video capture.
As the first device to feature Ovi Store inside, consumers have direct access to thousands of pieces of mobile content and applications allowing them to truly personalize their Nokia N97. Users can have access to apps from The Associated Press, AccuWeather and a selection of Twitter applications.
The Nokia N97 will be available in white or black and has an estimated price of USD 699 through Nokia Flagship stores in New York and Chicago, Nokia USA Website and various independent retailers and e-tailers.
