AnyDATA Corporation Launches the 'Fastest and Smallest' USB Modem

By Beverly Maniago, TMCnet Contributing Editor

AnyDATA Corporation, a manufacturer and designer of CDMA wireless modules and devices, has reportedly launched the ADU-610, “the fastest and smallest USB modem in the world.”

Measuring only 35x93x10mm, this nifty little device connects notebooks, PDAs and home PCs to the Internet at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps.

The modem uses HSDPA technology and is compatible with 3G networks. It can also be used in locations using 2.5G networks and connect at 384 kbps. It supports Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows Hardware including the new Windows Vista.

The ADU-610, which is currently being sold to carriers in Korea, comes with its own battery and guarantees output power to deliver outstanding performance.

“It has never been easier to enjoy the speed and ubiquitous access of broadband 3G wireless networks than using the breakthrough ADU-610 modem,” said Charles Napier, vice president of marketing for AnyDATA, in a press release. “While innovative in its performance and small design, it comes with the reliability of AnyDATA, who has certified its modem products with over 54 carriers in 42 countries worldwide.”

The USB modem offers worldwide coverage via UMTS networks. It also offers an internal antenna and two multi-color LED indicators.

AnyDATA also launched the smallest CDMA wireless GPS locating device, the AGT-100D, in January. It is designed to be tracked using Internet-based applications with assisted-GPS services. Due to its portability, it can be used for tracking people and personal assets, like vehicles or products transported in a tracked vehicle. The company designed the product in response to the growing concerns about security and safety of businesses and consumers.

AnyDATA is a leading manufacturer and developer of CDMA wireless devices and modules. The company’s CDMA technology covers CDMA1x, WCDMA, and IS-95A/B. The company specializes in the development of portable CDMA modems created for OEM customers without telecommunications experience.
