Plantronics Intros Voyager 835 Bluetooth Headset

By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Plantronics (News - Alert) has introduced the new Voyager 835 Bluetooth Headset, featuring three advanced noise cancelling technologies. Together, these three technologies provide clarity and natural voice on both sides of a conversation.

Renee Niemi, general manager and vice president of Mobile & Entertainment at Plantronics, said that the Voyager 835 is designed to defeat wind and other background noise in a variety of real-world environments, such as a busy city street, crowded restaurant or car with the air conditioning blowing.

The new Voyager 835 offers Plantronics Dual-Mic AudioIQ, a combination of its proprietary DSP algorithm with configured dual microphones to reduce background noise. DSP algorithm optimizes audio levels and fidelity on both sides of a conversation.

Company officials said that the inclusion of dual-microphones allows the Voyager 835 to “accurately” isolate voice signals. While one microphone captures voice, the second microphone identifies background noise and removes it.

Moreover, combined with Plantronics’ WindSmart technology, which filters and reduces wind distortion, the Voyager 835 delivers noise-cancellation benefits without over-processing audio.

“By focusing on everyday call scenarios, Plantronics developed a headset that provides exactly what consumers want: brilliant, true-to-life audio on both sides of a conversation that doesn't succumb to noisy environments and never sounds unnatural,” Niemi said, in a press statement.

The Voyager 835 headset is equipped with volume and calls answer/end controls. Additional feature of this offering is the inclusion of multipoint technology, which permits users to take calls from any two Bluetooth phones from a single headset.

“The Voyager 835 is a reflection of our commitment to surpassing customer expectation with products that deliver superior sound, quality and comfort,” Niemi said.

The new Plantronics Voyager 835 Bluetooth Headset is expected to be available in October. In August, the company announced the new GameCom 777 surround sound gaming headset featuring Dolby Headphone technology, which allows users to play PC games, listen to music and watch movies with dramatic virtual 5.1 surround sound effects.
