Telit Wireless (News - Alert) Solutions, Inc., the mobile technology arm of Telit Communications, has announced the introduction of its DE910-DUAL module which has been architected to allow the utilization of 3G CDMA networks capabilities for applications. These include consumer electronics, mobile health devices, telematics and mobile computing devices.  

The DE910-DUAL module has been designed by incorporating the Land Grid Array (LGA) form factor which makes it similar to the globally compatible UMTS/HSPA module, the HE910. Telit’s DE910-DUAL module has been enabled to provide its customers with a flexible connection to two of the most prominent global networks providing global coverage, accomplished through one core application design. The company will now support the LGA model by inducting advanced modules into the family. This will enable full hardware compatibility and similar logical interfacing for any new additions to the family format.

The company’s DE910-DUAL module includes the built-in gpsOne assisted GPS and autonomous GPS features. The features provide for an ultra-compact LGA package with measurements of 28.2 x 28.2 x 2.6mm in addition to providing extended operating temperature ranges of -30°C to +85°C. This has resulted in the creation of an exclusively optimized platform for mobile computing and aftermarket telematics devices.

Developed as a dual-band CDMA 1x EV-DO Rev. A module, the DE910-DUAL module provides a risk-free solution which enables complete backward compatibility to 1xRTT and EV-DO Rev. 0, which effectively expands the functioning capabilities and life of an application. Similar to previous Telit modules, the DE910-DUAL comes with Over-the-Air firmware updates through Premium FOTA Management which makes it easy to provide remote upgrades of the module software.

To add further value and functionality to the end application in a cost-effective manner, Telit’s new offering has been designed with additional features such as a TCP/IP and UDP Stack, RX diversity to boost performance, and a three-channel ADC (News - Alert) and one-channel DAC.
